The Muswell Hill Shul Murals
The Muswell Hill Murals were designed by the award-winning Israeli illustrator Omer Hoffmann. In total, they feature more than 50 renowned Jewish children’s book authors and illustrators, from I. L. Peretz and Sholem Aleichem to the present day. There are plenty more who could have been included! The summaries that follow explain who is depicted and list some of their most famous works. The artwork was commissioned in memory of Elizabeth Leventhal z”l, who enjoyed reading books to her grandchildren. You can read the Jewish Chronicle article about the mural here.
